60-year-old woman is radiant after total face refresh – ‘I’m thrilled with the result’
Claire Kenny, 60, underwent cosmetic surgery just before a milestone birthday after feeling self-conscious about the ageing appearance of her neck.
She became increasingly aware of it from her early 40s, which resulted in her choosing outfits and necklines that concealed the sagging.
Claire told Express.co.uk: “I didn’t feel my issues were particularly restricting me, or stopping me living life to the full, but I was interested to know if it could be improved and thought if there was an opportunity to feel better, I should pursue it.”
A couple of friends were also considering anti-ageing treatments which piqued her interest and she decided to take the plunge.
This wasn’t Claire’s first brush with cosmetic treatment as she had previously received a course of skin tightening treatments and Botox.

‘I thought if there was an opportunity to feel better, I should pursue it’
Claire came across Professor Ali Ghanem who later administered her Total Face Refresh, a bespoke treatment with long lasting effects.
She warmed to him immediately, appreciating his great communication skills and ability to explain his process without being overly technical.
Speaking about Professor Ali Ghanem, Claire told Express.co.uk: “His approach is really holistic – a complete facial rejuvenation. In my case it included a neck lift, a mini facelift, including my lower jawline. I also had blepharoplasty to remove excess skin from my eyelids.”
The professor pointed out to Claire that she had lost a lot of fat from her face over the years, which gave her a sunken appearance under her cheekbones. He suggested a fat transfer to give Claire’s face a fuller, more youthful appearance.
‘I don’t think I look artificial, but the procedure has definitely helped me to look better’
Confident in Ali’s magic hands, a month after her surgery, and another year after that, she had laser treatment to give her skin more radiance. She said: “It gave me a more youthful glow and I think it’s been really effective.”
Claire admitted that some of the treatment was painful but within a couple of days she felt back to normal – plus she felt very prepared beforehand.
She revealed that while it took a little time for things to settle, she could see results “almost immediately”, although she would see the full, long-term effect within a year.
Claire is absolutely delighted with her transformation and feels great about her appearance. Despite having had a number of treatments, she has still maintained a natural look.
How to look younger
She told Express.co.uk: “I’m now thrilled with the result, and it feels quite subtle. I don’t think I look artificial, but the procedure has definitely helped me to look better and feel more confident. Even though my neck was my main concern, I am delighted that I followed Professor Ghanem’s advice.
“I was understandably cautious at the time, having never considered surgery, but it made perfect sense to go for one more thorough procedure with longer lasting effects, rather than a series of short-term measures. I certainly feel happier with my overall look.
“Since my surgery I’ve had a few compliments, with people saying I look well, but not ‘better’ or ‘younger’. I think that’s the best compliment because it suggests I don’t look artificial, so I’m pretty happy with that.”
Claire wholeheartedly recommends Professor Ali Ghanem, who explained everything to her beforehand and provided excellent aftercare.
Speaking about the Total Face Refresh he said: “The three core issues I consider when reviewing every patient are volume responsible for face contour, laxity for definition and surface for its radiance.
“Targeting these elements in parallel helps create or restore facial harmony; if you only address single features in isolation, the outcome is likely to lead to an unbalanced and discordant appearance.”
For those looking into surgical or non-surgical treatments, the NHS urges people to be clear about what they want to achieve, speak to an expert, research thoroughly beforehand and understand the costs involved, taking time to make a decision.
It’s crucial to choose a qualified practitioner, ask questions and be cautious about procedures and clinics you find on social media.
