A woman who people believed was in her 20s has shocked social media users after revealing she is actually in her late 40s.
Anna Mae Groves is a lifestyle and beauty content creator who is 48 years old but has been heavily praised on her TikTok account @annamaegroves for her youthful appearance.
Anna surprised her social media followers when she posted a video with a voiceover that said: “This is for everyone who looks younger than their actual age and people don’t believe them when you tell them how old you are.”
She then revealed she is actually in her 40s, which has caused many of her followers to praise her appearance and beg for skincare advice. In the video comment section, one user said: “I literally gasped out loud, I thought you were 26!” while another fan commented: “I’m in shock, you look in your 20s.”
Anna has since posted a video of her “simple nighttime routine” which she said is a “great starting point” for anybody wishing to begin a new skincare routine or are not sure where to start.
At the beginning of the video, Anna said: “Okay here is a simple night-time routine. I am going to double cleanse today because I’m wearing makeup.”
In order to start your skincare routine, Anna explained she uses an oil cleanser first and then a foaming cleanser as it “really helps the products to penetrate better”.
She then revealed her ultimate yet unusual tip for skincare, which is to wear wristbands while putting products on. Anna explained: “Don’t forget wristbands! It’s a game changer as it keeps all that dirty water from rolling down your elbows and all over your sink.”
Next, Anna used a retinol product, which is a vitamin A anti-aging ingredient often added to skin creams which are thought to help prevent wrinkles. Anna added that when applying retinol “don’t forget to put it everywhere” which includes your neck and back of your eyes.
Anna then said you can apply an eye cream at this stage, but it is optional for those just beginning to get into skincare.
The final products Anna used were a moisturiser and lip balm. She said: “If you want to use an eye cream you can, I usually skip that and just put my moisturiser on all over.
Anna finished her video by explaining she hoped it would be a “great starting point for anyone” wishing to begin their skincare journey, and users quickly rushed to the comment section to praise her advice.
One user wrote: “You’re so gorgeous! Thanks for sharing these routines.”
Another person said: “Amazing skin, you are so beautiful!”
Someone else commented: “Oh my God, the wristbands! You have just changed my life forever.”
