Kate, Princess of Wales, 41, has been wearing a lot of pink outfits lately, but a style expert argues it is not because of the new Barbie film.
Instead, it is likely that the mother of three wants to appear “softer and gentler” in her appearance.
Miranda Holder, who has 181,000 TikTok followers, explained just how Kate’s doing this, and why it’s a genius move.
She said: “We either have a Princess of Wales who is the biggest closet Barbie fan ever, or she’s just embracing this colour being fashionable at the moment and enjoying herself.”
According to Miranda, the choice of pink from the Princess is unlikely to be a coincidence, given that the royals are known to have hidden messages in their fashion choices.
The expert explained: “Every style decision, especially what it comes to Kate’s wardrobe, is absolutely considered and deliberate down to the colour she wears.”
Kate was photographed wearing an Alexander McQueen blazer and trousers with a matching blouse, white belt and heels back in May.
The Princess also wore a stunning bubble gum pink ME+EM dress at the annual Chelsea Flower Show and another chic belted dress on a trip to the V&A.
Kate notably wore a lot of pink following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
After the interview, Kate stepped out in a school in east London wearing a pink coat and matching top.
Interestingly, the Princess opted for pink again the day after the BBC documentary, The Princes and the Press, was aired.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, fashion expert and personal stylist Samantha Harman noted that it was probably a conscious decision for Kate to wear pink “after a bit of unwanted publicity” since it portrays qualities of “kindness, compassion and nurturing”.
Miranda added: “According to colour psychology, which the royals do pay attention to, pink is fun, feminine, flirty and romantic.”
This might explain why the Princess wore a pink Jenny Packham dress to Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Rajwa Al-Saif’s wedding.
The expert claimed: “My feelings are the Waleses’ are about to switch gear in some way.
“Kate is currently being rebranded as a softer, gentler version of herself.”
This “change in tone” is expected after the Coronation, the style expert explained.
