Bring a sweater or jacket with you to the Padres’ season home opener against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday at Petco Park.
When the game gets underway downtown at 1:10 p.m., the temperature will already have peaked at 65 degrees, says the National Weather Service. And skies might be mostly cloudy due to onshore winds.
Conditions will be even chillier on Friday night at 6:40 p.m. during the Padres’ second game against Atlanta. The temperature will be 60 when the first pitch is thrown and could drop to 53 by late in the game, forecasters say.
Petco is known as a pitcher’s park this time of year because the wind can make it harder for batters to hit a home run.
