Carnival had an incident on one of its cruise liners Friday that led to a traveler getting medical treatment for an alleged attack by another passenger.
13News Now first covered the attack onboard the Carnival Magic, reporting a bar glass was purportedly wielded during it. When the alleged assault occurred in the Magic’s theater that evening, the ship had been sailing back to the port in Norfolk, Virginia, at the tail-end of an eight-day cruise, according to the outlet.
The occurrence of the incident was confirmed to FOX Business by Carnival Cruise Line.
Onboard medical staffers provided care to the injured guest, according to Carnival. As for the alleged attacker, the cruise line did not allow them to leave their cabin “for the remainder of the cruise.”

Carnival said “this is now a matter for law enforcement” after having handed the alleged assailant a permanent ban using the cruise line. The Norfolk Police Department told FOX Business the FBI Norfolk Field Office was investigating, something a spokesperson for the FBI confirmed.
The cruise line also said it had “zero tolerance for this kind of behavior.”
