Young Thug has reportedly been released from an Atlanta hospital after having fallen ill before a court proceeding on Thursday. According to WSB-TV, the rapper was rushed to a facility for medical care early Thursday afternoon.
The Atlanta rapper is one of over two dozen co-defendants in a sweeping RICO Act indictment against members of Thugger’s Young Slime Life record label, which authorities claim is, in actuality, a violent street gang.

The Rapper Is Expected Back In Court Friday After Having Mysteriously Fallen Ill
According to 11 Alive, the “Ski” rapper was evaluated during his brief hospitalization and is expected to appear in court on Friday morning. The outlet reports that the proceeding will continue the process of jury selection.
During the rapper’s hospitalization, his attorney told WSB-TV that his illness was unclear. Additionally, he explained that he didn’t expect the rapper to be able to arrive at court that day.
The lawyer added that he hadn’t spoken to Young Thug. However, he was “obviously concerned about (Thugger’s) wellbeing.”
“I know he’s had some difficulty of a similar sort at the Cobb County jail a few months ago, and so I’m obviously concerned about his wellbeing,” the lawyer said.
Thug’s Hospitalization Comes Just Weeks After Reports Of His Bad Health While Incarcerated
However, it was unsurprising to hear that Thug got sick following damning reports on his health from his lawyers last month.
As reported by The Shade Room last month, the rapper’s legal team had complained about his health during a bond hearing in April.
His attorneys specifically cited unhealthy foods and a lack of sleep as the cause behind Thugger’s health issues. Those issues have gotten so bad recently that the rapper is “fighting to pay attention to the goings on in his case.”
“Mr. Williams is sleep deprived, mandated to wake up on court days between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. and not having more than five hours of sleep per night,” lawyers said. “By the end of the week, Mr. Williams is fighting to pay attention to the goings on in his case.”
Thugger was ultimately denied bond during that hearing.
The rapper has remained in custody since he was arrested on charges accusing him of leading the YSL street gang. The alleged gang reportedly claims affiliation with the Bloods.

A Brief History Of Young Thug’s Ongoing Trial As Jury Selection Enters Sixth Month Of Proceedings
Thug faces a gang activity charge from 2018 and a 2013 charge of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act.
Thug has maintained his innocence throughout the trial, plagued by several issues since the start. That includes the arrest of a lawyer, Anastassios Manettas, who represents another defendant in the case.
The jury selection in the YSL RICO trial is now heading into its sixth month of proceedings.
Meanwhile, this month will mark one year since prosecutors handed down the original indictment. That indictment claimed members of Young Slime Life committed nearly 200 criminal acts in its capacity as a street gang.
The YSL RICO trial is on track to shatter records as the most extended criminal trial in Fulton County history.
