Green Day will hit the road in a major way in 2024 to promote “Saviors,” its first album of new music in four years.
The album, scheduled for a Jan. 19 release, will be followed by an extended North American stadium tour that opens July 29 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. and concludes Sept. 28 at Petco Park in San Diego. The lineup for the 25-city tour also includes the bands Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and The Linda Lindas.
This will not be Green Day’s first concert at Petco Park. The band performed at the downtown ball park — the home of the San Diego Padres baseball team — in 2017 and again in August 2021.
“Saviors” is the 14th album by Green Day, the Bay Area-bred pop-punk band that was formed in 1987 and has won four Grammy Awards. The trio’s worldwide album sales now exceed 75 million, nearly one-third of them in the U.S.
Green Day’s 2004 album, “American Idiot,” was transformed into a musical that had a one-year New York run on Broadway from 2010 to 2011. It won two Tony Awards, while the Broadway cast recording earned a Grammy Award.
Green Day’s most recent single, “The American Dream is Killing Me,” was released Oct. 24, along with the song, “Look Ma No Brains.”
Tickets for Green Day’s “Saviors” tour will go on sale to the general public Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com.
It will be preceded by multiple pre-sales, starting 10 a.m. Tuesday for Citi members. A pre-sale for fans on Green Day’s mailing list begins Wedesday at 10 a.m., followed — at 10 a.m. Nov. 9 — by Live Nation, Ticketmaster, Spotify and local venue pre-sales. All pre-sales conclude Nov. 9 at 10 p.m. local time
Ticket prices for the San Diego concert range from $59 to $199, plus service fees.
