ESCONDIDO —
An Escondido police officer was involved in a shooting Friday morning, San Diego police said.
The incident happened just after 7 a.m. on East Valley Parkway near Bear Valley Parkway on the east end of the city, Officer David O’Brien said. The address appears to be a mobile home park.
The officer was not injured in the encounter, he said. No further details were available, including what happened, if the officer fired the weapon or was fired upon, or whether anyone was shot.
San Diego police are investigating the shooting as per a countywide protocol designed to prevent law enforcement agencies from investigating themselves.
