NATIONAL CITY —
A 26-year-old man was shot in the leg in National City late Wednesday night, police said.
The shooting occurred about 11:50 p.m. on East 30th Street, just east of National City Boulevard. Police received a report of a man lying on the sidewalk and yelling that he had been shot.
Officers found him bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound to his right leg, and they applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, police said.
Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was later listed to be stable, police said.
No details about what led up to the shooting were available.
The victim provided little information about the shooter, police said. The investigation was ongoing.
