A Vista man was arrested Monday in connection with a stabbing attack that left one man dead and another wounded over the weekend, sheriff’s officials said.
The stabbing was reported about 11 p.m. Saturday on Palomar Place, where deputies found both victims.
Anthony Leal, 31, of Escondido died at the scene, while a second victim, a 31-year-old Vista resident, was taken to a hospital with multiple stab wounds to his upper torso, said homicide Lt. Joseph Jarjura.
Following an investigation, deputies on Monday arrested Daniel Rosas, 30, on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, Jarjura said.
The nature of the relationship between Rosas and the victims was not yet clear, nor were the circumstances surrounding the stabbing, he said.
