Jamie & Corinne “Can’t Wait” For The New Game Show
Variety reported on the matter early Monday morning, and the show — We Are Family — is set to air on Fox next year.
The program will highlight “non-famous relatives of celebrities performing duets with their hidden famous family member.”
Additionally, We Are Family will “feature a studio audience entirely comprised of 100 contestants.” These contestants can “win up to $100,000 each by correctly guessing which celebrity the performer is related to before they are revealed.”
As Jamie Foxx is also the host of Beat Shazam, it looks like he’s expanding his repertoire with another music-related Fox game show—and he’s bringin’ his daughter along for the ride, too!
Fox Entertainment exec Allison Wallach commented on the news by telling Variety, “Jamie and Corinne are important partners to the Fox Family.”
The father-daughter duo also acknowledged the news in a statement.
“We are thrilled to be developing We Are Family with Jeff Apploff and our friends at Fox Entertainment after so much success with six seasons of Beat Shazam. We hope this show brings as much fun to audiences at home as we’ve had creating it when it premieres next year.”
Additionally, Corinne spoke on the upcoming project on Instagram, noting that she and Jamie “can’t wait for this new show.”
Corinne Recently Had To Shut Down Speculation About Jamie’s Health
As The Shade Room reported last month, Corinne recently spoke on how her father was recovering from a “medical complication.”
“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”
Despite the family asking for “privacy,” rumors eventually spread about how Jamie’s “inner circle” was “preparing for the worst,” as Radar Online put it.
This ultimately prompted Corinne to hop on Instagram and put the speculation to rest, as she said Jamie had been “out of the hospital for weeks” and was actively “recuperating.”
She added, “In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday.”
After thanking fans for their support, Corinne seemingly hinted at the game show news by adding, “We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”
