CHULA VISTA —
A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Chula Vista Wednesday night, according to police.
Officers responded to the scene after receiving a report of a pedestrian being struck around 7:50 p.m. on Bonita Road east of Interstate 805, Chula Vista police said in a news release.
Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a hospital where he or she died.
The 75-year-old driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and spoke with officers. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the crash, police said.
The name of the victim was not available pending notification of family.
No further details were released.
