Meghan Markle channeled her inner “golden goddess” as she attended the New York Gala to accept the Women of Vision Award for her lifelong advocacy to empower women and girls, a stylist has noted.
The Duchess received the accolade alongside Prince Harry, marking the couple’s first public appearance since the Duke of Sussex returned to the UK for the Coronation of King Charles III.
Meghan wore a shimmering gold strapless dress and a bracelet belonging to Princess Diana as she walked onto the stage to Alicia Keys’ “Girl On Fire”.
World-renowned stylist Miranda Holder said Meghan’s “paired-back” look stood in contrast to some of the edgier styles she donned as a royal.

The fashion writer told Express.co.uk: “Meghan Markle literally glowed on the red carpet last night, her figure-hugging Johana Ortiz sheath dress gives us all the golden goddess vibes, and she collected her auspicious ‘Women of Vision’ award last night with Prince Harry and her mother proudly by her side.”
The stylist pointed out that Meghan’s look was very much in keeping with the “California-cool aesthetic” she’s embraced since her return to home soils.
“Although her look was ultra-sophisticated and Meghan looked fabulous, I felt that this look, no matter how beautiful, was a little paired back when compared to some of the bolder looks she embraced during her time as a working Royal,” Holder added.
She went on: “Continuing the ‘less is more’ theme, Meghan wore barely there Tom Ford shoes, a discreet Carolina Herrera clutch bag, and some subtle gold and diamond jewelry.
The Duchess completed her golden look with hoop earrings and a diamond bracelet inherited from her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
“Her glittering crystal hoop earrings were from US High street favourite J Crew and besides her trusty gold caterer love bracelet, there were two diamond bracelets, one of which previously belonged to her later mother-in-law Princess Diana,” explained Holder.
“The overall effect – while not as ‘showy’ as some of Meghan’s previous show-stopping looks was thoroughly mesmerising, and would not look at all out of place on the set of the next James Bond film.”
Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland was also in attendance at the event to support Meghan as she made a memorable acceptance speech.
During her impassioned discourse, Meghan urged women to “charter their own paths” to success and become the “visionary of their own lives”.
