Harris and Hoole, owned by Caffè Nero, has more than 30 branches in Tesco superstores across the country.
A Harris and Hoole spokesperson explained that the contract between Tesco and Caffè Nero will end before Christmas which means some sites will have to shut down in the next few months.
They explained: “Harris and Hoole has a strong store opening and growth plan for 2023 and beyond, focused on standalone stores in locations which best appeal to our target customer market.
“Following the conclusion of our existing agreement with Tesco, both parties have decided to pursue separate strategies. The first of our new stores has already opened, with several more in the pipeline.”
Therefore, standalone stores will remain open, including some in London, but supermarket branches will close for good.
