One woman decided to get revenge on her inconsiderate neighbours after they parked nine cars outside of her home and would not move them.
A furious American woman took to Reddit’s ‘Petty Revenge’ forum to brag that she decided to come up with a scheme to get back at her car-obsessed neighbours, and ended up costing them over $100,000 (around £80,000).
In the Reddit post, the woman said her neighbour’s driveway was big enough to fit at least four cars, but it was always empty.
The woman wrote: “My neighbours have nine cars total parked in the street. They always park two of those cars in front of my house and won’t move them the whole week.
“We have a regulation where you live that you can’t leave your car parked for more than 48 hours in the same spot.”

The woman added that she has asked her neighbours to move their cars in the past but was denied.
She wrote: “They have told me they don’t like to leave their driveway with cars because it looks tacky.
“Over half the cars they have they don’t even use them. They just use them to safe parking spots for themselves.”
However, back in 2021, the woman noticed that her neighbours were building a second unit at the back of their house and that it was completed in less than a month.
This led her to suspect they had built the unit without permission. She wrote: “This raised some red flags because it takes anywhere from 2-3 months with city inspections taking the majority of time.
“I submitted a ticket with my city through the app and advised them that there might be some illegal residential buildings without permits. I didn’t think of it much until a year later.”
After she put in the complaint, the woman forgot about it until now when she noticed her upset neighbours tearing down the unit after being surprised by a city inspection.
The woman wrote: “Word got around our block that a city inspector was there making sure everything was being torn down. Based on what the materials and labour they put into their second unit I cost them over $100,000.”
In the forum comment section, people were shocked yet delighted by the woman’s revenge, but some believed she still needed to do something about their parked cars.
One popular comment said: “Now it’s time to start reporting the cars to the city as well. Well, technically it’s far past time to start doing that.”
Another person wrote: “Accidentally scatter birdseed around their parked cars every day.”
Someone else commented: “If you have a 48-hour parking rule, have those cars towed!”
