RANCHO BERNARDO —
A driver allegedly ran a red light in Rancho Bernardo and slammed into the side of a turning vehicle on Sunday, injuring an 87-year-old woman who was a passenger in the other car, San Diego police said.
The 24-year-old man was driving his 2017 Honda east on Camino del Norte when he blew through a red light and broadsided a 2024 Toyota around 1:10 p.m. as it was making a left turn onto southbound Paseo Montanoso, said police Office John Buttle.
Police did not say if the driver of the Toyota, a 57-year-old woman, was injured. Her elderly passenger suffered a fractured pelvis, ribs and sternum in the crash and was taken to a hospital.
No other details were immediately available.
