San Diego police have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of a victim found near a San Ysidro motel earlier this week, authorities said Friday.
Jose Antonio Granados Jr. was arrested during a traffic stop early Thursday in the Midway District, said homicide Lt. Jud Campbell. Granados is accused of fatally shooting Jorge Sahagun Osuna, 37.
Osuna was found along with two other shooting victims on Monday, although Granados had not been booked into jail on charges related to other shootings as of Friday.
The report of a shooting came out about 4 a.m. on East Calle Primera. Officers found Osuna and a second victim, 31, near a motel. A third victim, 20, was found near a gas station and Interstate 5 a short distance away. The two other victims are expected to survive their wounds, Campbell said Friday.
Detectives learned that the suspect, identified as Granados, and victims all knew each other from living in the area, the lieutenant said. Besides the arrest, police have recovered a vehicle believed to have been used during the incident, Campbell said.
