SAN DIEGO —
A 30-year-old driver died after his sedan veered off Interstate 805 near Normal Heights early Tuesday, according to a California Highway Patrol officer.
The crash was reported around 3 a.m. just south of Adams Avenue when a Ford Focus drove off the roadway and crashed into an embankment, Officer Salvador Castro said in a news release. The driver was ejected from the car and suffered fatal injuries.
His name was not released pending notification of his family.
The driver’s passenger was able to escape from wreckage after suffering minor injuries.
It was not known if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
