LAKESIDE —
The Sheriff’s Department announced Thursday the arrest of a man in connection with a fatal shooting in Lakeside earlier this week.
Deputies responded to a call of multiple gunshots being heard around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday on Cactus Street near Julian Avenue, said Lt. Joseph Jarjura in a news release. At the scene, first responders found Michael Anthony Johnson, 26, on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to a hospital where he died, Jarjura said.
On Wednesday, investigators arrested Anthony Jose Gonzales, 26, on suspicion of murder. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail.
No further details were given.
