CHULA VISTA —
A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Chula Vista early Wednesday morning, police said.
Officers responding to a 911 call around 5:30 a.m. found a man had been hit and killed by a vehicle on Broadway and L Street, said Chula Vista police Lt. Lamar Barrett.
The 33-year-old man died before he could be taken to a hospital. His name has not been released.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Police said there was no indication drugs or alcohol were a factor.
The intersection was closed as the traffic investigation was under way.
