A San Diego police officer was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence this week, the department said Friday.
San Diego police responded to a call regarding a domestic violence disturbance on Pacific Highway south of West Grape Street about 8 p.m. Monday, department spokesman Lt. Daniel Meyers said. The area is in the Little Italy neighborhood, about a block northeast of the County Administration Building.
“Officers arrived, conducted an investigation and eventually arrested an SDPD officer assigned to Central Division,” Meyer said in a statement.
The officer, identified as Seth Tate, was booked in jail on suspicion of domestic violence, the lieutenant said.
“The San Diego Police Department takes these kinds of incidents very seriously,” Meyer said.
Tate, 32, has been with the department for nearly three years. He was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation as well as an administrative investigation.
