The Arc of San Diego will hold a Winter Wonderland fashion show and luncheon on Friday to raise money in support of its programs for those living with disabilities.
The runway show during the luncheon at the US Grant hotel will be presented by style personality Leonard Simpson and hosted by Mary Murphy, a choreographer, American ballroom dance champion and former judge from the television series “So You Can Think You Can Dance.” The luncheon will include a fashion show, opportunities to shop from local boutique vendors and a silent auction.
The Arc of San Diego is a not-for-profit corporation that has supported people with disabilities throughout San Diego County since its founding in 1951.
Today, the organization provides services to about 2,000 children and adults throughout the county with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. The Arc of San Diego has five locations, including an adult development center in San Marcos, a center to help people transition from the public education system and later into retirement in El Cajon, and a day program center in Chula Vista.
Money raised during the luncheon will support its various programs and services, which include an early intervention program for children with developmental delays, residential programs for adults with disabilities and respite services for family caregivers.
“Everyone can make a difference by donating to our programs and our services,” said Chloe Pankratz, Arc of San Diego digital marketing and media specialist. “Together, we can support and empower children and adults with disabilities to not only live their lives to their maximum potential but also achieve their goals.”
Tickets for the fundraiser luncheon and fashion show are $125 per person and are available for purchase online at arc-sd.com/winterwonderland. For more information on the Arc of San Diego and its slate of programs, visit arc-sd.com or call (619) 685-1175.
