Today Disney announced that the next three Avatar movies will be pushed back, with the last arriving in the next decade.
Avatar 3 has moved from December 2024 to December 2025, while Avatar 4 will now not land in cinemas until December 2029, followed by Avatar 5 in December 2031.
Over at Marvel, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 has shifted up from November 8, 2024 to May 3, 2024.
Meanwhile, Captain America: Brave New World has been pushed back three months to July 26, 2024.
Additionally, Thunderbolts and Blade, both affected by the writers’ strike, have moved five months back to December 20, 2024 and February 14, 2025 respectively.

Fantastic Four has shifted back three months to May 2, 2025 ahead of the next two Avengers movies which have been delayed too.
Avengers: Kang Dynasty has been pushed back a year to May 1, 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars to May 7, 2027.
As for Star Wars, the next two movies will release in 2026. As announced at Star Wars Celebration in April, there are at least three in the works.
One is a Daisy Ridley Rey solo movie set around 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.
Another is set 25,000 years earlier exploring the dawn of the Jedi and a third is a conclusion to The Mandalorian Disney+ show and its spin-off.
Additionally to all this news, the live-action remake of Moana, starring Dwayne Johnson, has been announced for June 27, 2025.
