Barclays Bank apologised to customers after technical problems caused disruption to services and payments over the weekend.
The bank said the outage has now been resolved, and payments delayed by the IT issue over the last few days have been processed.
Barclays had said affected customers were still viewing outdated balances and payments were not being shown.
A Barclays spokesperson said: “The technical issue impacting our customers on Friday and Saturday has been resolved and delayed payments processed. Customers can use our app, bank online, call us, use their cards and withdraw cash. We are working on bringing balances up to date for some of our customers and addressing any outstanding issues.
The spokesperson also responded to customer questions over compensation for any losses caused.
They said: “We are very sorry for any disruption and will ensure that no impacted customer is left out of pocket.
“We are keeping our call centres open for longer this weekend and we will be proactively contacting customers who may be vulnerable.”
PA reported that the outage was caused by a technical issue and was not believed to be related to a cyber attack.
Customers affected by the Barclays Bank outage, which began on Friday, have been reassured that they will not be fined by HMRC if the IT glitch meant they were unable to pay their tax bill before the deadline, set for January 31 at midnight.
January 31 was the first payday for many Brits since Christmas Day, and it was also the deadline for submitting a self-assessment tax return to HMRC.
The IT glitch was still affecting hundreds of account holders on Saturday afternoon with many still saying they are unable to access their money and cannot make or receive payments.
HMRC has also said that those unable to pay their tax bill due to the outage will not receive a £100 fine for missing the midnight deadline for self-assessment tax returns.
Civil servant Paola Mereu, 39, claimed to the Daily Mail her family had been left homeless after the payment for their new house had not gone through.
She said: “We drove down to (West Sussex on Friday) and we had all our things in a moving van and were waiting outside and unfortunately, around one o’clock, my solicitor calls and says ‘Barclays is having some issues and we are unable to complete the sale’.
“So we sold our house – we had the money from that – but we were unable to complete the other part of the sale, so we are essentially homeless.”
Mrs Mereu said her family are currently staying with her mother in London with the moving van containing all their belongings parked on the driveway.
Customers who believe they have a compensation claim should contact Barclays first.
