Simba mattresses are some of the most critically lauded and beloved available in the UK. The catch? Without a healthy discount, Simba mattresses can be a little pricey.
Fortunately, there are some brilliant deals available on Simba mattresses at the moment, with discounts of 40% and free mattress protectors available as bundles for July 2023.

Likewise, Simba bedframes and bases also qualify for the 200-night trial. However, the pillow and duvet aren’t included in the risk-free trial. If you decide to hold onto your new Simba mattress or bedframe, both will be guaranteed for 10 years.
With the Sleep Foundation recommending the general lifespan of a mattress to be around seven to ten years, Simba’s guarantee covers this period, so customers have peace of mind when making the long-term investment.

Simbas has created all of its bedframes with a nifty “Easy-Fit” design, which offers tool-free assembly in 10 minutes.
All in, Simba offers three different bed bases – Orion, Platform, and Atlas.
As the name suggests, Platform is a simple base with no included headboard. It is elevated from the floor, so there is still some space for storage underneath the bed. Built from renewable FSC wood and 61% recycled materials, this frame is designed to be kind to the planet. The platform only comes in one colour, light grey, but Simba does make the Platform available in all sizes, you can match your new base with any mattress for a comfy sleep.
Meanwhile, the Orion design has a classic bedframe design with an upholstered headboard. Which Simba mattress should I buy?

There are a number of key differences between these designs.
Simba Essential is the most affordable of the lineup as, as you might expect, is the most basic of the Bed In A Box brand’s mattress designs. It uses the same combination of luxurious foam and pocket-springs to offer stability, airflow, and comfort. However, as the entry-level mattress from Simba, it has fewer Aerocoil micro-springs than other (pricier) designs
The Simba Hybrid is the original mattress from the British brand, with five layers of different foam, totalling a depth of 25cm. Inside this hybrid design is a single layer built from 2,500 titanium patented Aerocoil micro-springs to improve stability
Next up, the Simba Hybrid Pro really ups the ante when it comes to Aerocoil micro-springs, with twice as many as the Simba Hybrid. Yes, in total, Simba has squeezed 5,000 titanium patented pocket-springs (split across two laters) inside this mattress design. Simba also uses a layer of British wool to improve temperature regulation. In total, the Hybrid Pro stands a little taller at 28cm.
Finally, the Simba Hybrid Luxe is the flagship mattress from the Bed In A Box brand. As such, it’s comfortably the most expensive model on offer, but also relies on the most advanced technology for superior comfort and support. The Hybrid Luxe has more layers in its design than any other mattress from Simba. In total, you’ll find 10 layers that make it 31cm deep, and two layers of up to 5,000 titanium Aerocoil micro-springs for ultimate comfort, plus another 1,000 steel Aerocoil springs for extra support. Simba has also included a wool moisture-wicking wool layer for temperature regulation, but while British wool is used in the Hybrid Pro, the Luxe relies on an infusion with bamboo for additional comfort.
While you really can’t go wrong with a Simba mattress as they’re all superior models, if you’re interested in more support it’s worth looking into the Hybrid Pro or the Luxe, but if you think the support from the original Hybrid will be enough for you there’s no real need to spend the extra money. You can also take advantage of Simbas 200 night in-home trial if you’re on the fence about which one is right for you.
What is the difference between Simba Hybrid Essential and Hybrid?
The Simba Hybrid is the design that launched this British brand. For a long time, the Simba Hybrid was the entry-level mattress in the lineup, but that’s no longer the case, thanks to the introduction of the Simba Hybrid Essential. The latter is missing a few features to cut back on costs – helping it to achieve the lowest price tag of any Simba mattress.
Both of these mattresses are hybrid designs (as the names suggest) combing the benefits of luxurious foam and the stability provided by micro-springs. But while the standard Simba Hybrid has up to 2,500 of Simba’s patented springs, the Essential tops-out at just 1,500 micro-springs.
The Essential also misses out on the edge-to-edge support layer, relying on a single base layer made of supportive foam instead. That could mean you’ll miss some of the rigidity found on other Simba designs, even when sitting (or lying) on the very edge of the mattress.
Is a Simba mattress firm or soft?
Simba doesn’t describe mattresses by firmness due to the unique design not being directly comparable to other mattresses, but the brand does say that if it was to describe how firm the Hybrid mattress is, it would be medium-firm.
The mattresses do focus on support however, as the sturdy base layer forms part of each of the four mattress types, and in order to keep the spine correctly aligned, Simba customers can expect the mattresses to include soft shoulder support and firmer lumbar section.
For those who require more head and neck support or just prefer a firmer feel, Simba does offer a firm version of Simba Hybrid Pillow, which absorbs pressure while sleeping and is made up of three interchangeable pillows, two using Simba Renew technology, and the other of Aerocoil springs. The design allows you to personalise your sleeping position and the support needed, by adding or removing layers.
Anyone unsure of which firmness they require can use the 200-night trial to test the mattress and ensure that they are happy with the comfort and support before deciding whether to keep it.
