Disney have just released the first trailer for their upcoming animated musical movie Wish.
The movie stars West Side Story actress Ariana DeBose as the movie’s hero, Asha, who senses a “growing darkness” that is somehow tied up with the local King Magnifico.
The nefarious monarch is played by Chris Pine, who recently starred in Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, taking on his first animated role since he played Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Asha makes a wish and a star – named Star – answers her call, forever intertwining their destinies.
The picture is being directed by Chris Buck, and produced by Peter Del Vecho, who is best known for bringing Frozen and Frozen 2 to the big screen.

If that wasn’t epic enough, Wish is being co-produced by Juan Pablo Reyes, who brought Encanto to Disney Plus just a few short years ago.
Each of Wish’s original songs have been composed by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician Benjamin Rice.
The score itself is being brought to life by composer Dave Metzger.
Disney’s last animated movie release was Strange World, which was sent straight to Disney Plus back in November.
This summer, Elemental is going to hit cinemas just in time for school holidays, before Wish finally comes out in cinemas this November.
Wish is coming to cinemas on November 22, 2023.
