A suspect in the 2008 killing of a disabled man in Oceanside was arrested this week, police officials said.
The body of Cecil Zachary Jr., 51, was discovered with “obvious signs of trauma” in the summer of 2008 at his home in the 1500 block of Molly Circle.
Zachary Jr. had lost the use of his legs in a car crash more than 30 years before his death.
On Wednesday, Jeffrey Roberson, 59, was arrested after he was identified as a suspect using DNA evidence, Oceanside Police said in a release.
Roberson allegedly admitted to the homicide in an interview with police following his arrest, officials said.
The motive for the killing is still unclear, Oceanside Police said.
Roberson was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of murder.
