An elderly driver was killed Wednesday when his vehicle collided with another off Interstate 15 near Fallbrook, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred about 7:40 a.m. on the I-15 southbound off-ramp to Old Highway 395. An 18-year-old woman from Wildomar stopped her Jaguar XF at the controlled intersection, then proceeded toward the 395 when she crashed into a Toyota Venza, causing it to overturn, said CHP Officer Hunter Gerber.
The driver of the Toyota, an 86-year-old Fallbrook resident, was taken to a hospital, where he died. His name was not released pending notification of family.
The Jaguar driver was not injured.
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, Gerber said.
