ESCONDIDO —
Escondido police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday outside an Applebee’s restaurant that left one victim hospitalized.
The shooting was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m. in a parking lot off Auto Park Way near West Valley Parkway, Escondido police Sgt. Aaron Heath said.
The victim’s injury was not believed to be life threatening, Heath said. No other details were released.
10News San Diego reported the victim was 20-year-old man who was shot in the head while leaving the restaurant. According to the station, the victim was in a vehicle exiting the parking lot when someone in another vehicle began firing shots.
