WARNING: This article contains full spoilers for Fast X.
The Fast and Furious franchise has always been a little blasé with how it treats death.
Just look at Han – a character who died in the series’ third movie, Tokyo Drift, was brought back in Fast & Furious in a flashback before his death was completely retconned in F9.
Well, it’s happened again. Another major character who was killed off in a brutal way back in Fast & Furious 6, has now made a triumphant return in the series’ latest entry, Fast X.
Scroll down for all the information on how this character has made a comeback, and what it means for the series going forward.

Gisele is alive.
Yeah, really. Gisele Yashar, the Israeli operative introduced in Fast Five, played by Gal Gadot, is alive and well.
For those who need a refresher, the final scenes of Fast X showed Letty and Cipher escaping The Agency’s prison in Antarctica.
After walking through the Arctic wasteland for a while, they were eventually met by a submarine crashing through the ice they were walking on. And who stood atop this enormous machine? Gisele. Back from the dead.
For fans who may not remember, Gisele was an integral part of Fast & Furious 6 after she started a relationship with Han.
The lovers were part of Dominic Toretto’s family and helped on his heists and jobs. But during the final battle against Hobbs, Gisele let go of the car she was hanging onto during a plane manoeuvre to shoot a man trying to kill Han. As a result, she fell to her (presumed!) death. She has not been seen alive in the franchise ever since (except for in flashbacks).
So, how is Giselle alive? Well, we don’t know right now. It seems as if she somehow survived falling off of the plane / car contraption and has spent the last ten years hiding out.
This is almost exactly what Han did, but Letty and Mia knew where the fallen hero had been all this time.
There is a clue in the movie as to where Gisele has been all this time, though.
Tess (played by Brie Larson) made her series debut in Fast X. She is the daughter of Mr Nobody, one of the leaders of the Agency who has since gone missing – what is he up to?
Well, back in an earlier movie, Mr Nobody described his relationship with Gisele as one of great trust.
He said: “I worked with Gisele. Back when I was a CIA operative running the drug trade in Central America. The good old days. Gisele was my best.”
This may mean that Gisele had been hiding out with help from Mr Nobody for years, however, that begs the question: Why?
Fans will simply have to wait until the next Fast and Furious movie to find out exactly what the hell has been going on.
Fast X is in cinemas now.
