Ozzy Osbourne continues to be plagued by health issues – and the English singer has been spotted leaving hospital in a wheelchair.
The 74-year-old, who suffered a crippling spinal injury at his home in 2019, was forced to pull out of the Power Trip festival in Indio, California, this week.
It was due to be the Black Sabbath frontman’s big comeback, but the rocker was forced to cancel the October show due to health concerns.
“Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed,” he said in a statement on Monday.
Now, a frail-looking Ozzy has been seen leaving Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA as he continues in his battle to get fighting fit again.
Ozzy was snapped heading out of the exit doors with a face mask while being helped by a female companion.
Wearing a black jacket, black trousers, black trainers and trademark dark sunglasses, the singer was taken to a car round the corner.
In order to get into the backseat of the vehicle, Ozzy got some assistance to stand up when his associte grabbed one of his arms.
It comes just days after a devastated Ozzy was forced to cancel his Power Trip festival performance for health reasons.
“As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October,” he shared in a statement on Monday.
“My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward.
“Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed.
“The band that will be replacing me on Power Trip will be announced shortly. They are personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed.”
He added: “Above all, I want to thank my fans, my band, and my crew for their unconditional loyalty and continual support. I love you all and I will see you soon.”
Ozzy did actually retire from touring in February, canceling his UK and European tour dates because he was not well enough to perform.
The rocker admitted retirement was “one of the hardest” things he’d ever had to tell fans, but a month later he vowed to “get back out there”.
His replacement at the Power Trip festival has yet to be announced.
