Esther Krakue, a royal commentator, recently made an appearance on the Royal Report and stated Kate has been compared to Queen Elizabeth due to her popularity.
Esther explained: “Princess Catherine has effectively become the main ambassador for the royal family. One of the things that have made the royal family so durable over the years is their ability to adapt and understand the times that they are in and to really take some social cues from the environment, and nobody embodies that better than Princess Kate.”
She pointed out that Kate is able to both represent the Royal Family and care about social issues without “making it all about herself” and understands how to be an ambassador without “being tacky or crass.”
Esther said: “[Kate] also understands the institution and the sense of duty and service that you must have to be a working royal. People are looking forward to her and her husband eventually becoming king and queen of this country.”
It has been suggested that Kate wields a “soft power” within the Royal Family due to her popularity, and it has also been stated that many people are excited to see the Princess as a monarch.
Jennie Bond, the former royal correspondent for the BBC, has recently told OK! Magazine that Kate is “much admired” and compared her to Queen Mother Elizabeth due to her “charming” and “gentle” nature.
She said: “[Kate] has learned the craft of being royal over a number of years and earned her place as a senior member of the family.
“Gradually, she has also earned the respect of the public and, I believe, of the rest of the family. We look at her now not just as William’s wife, but as our future Queen.”
