From glamorous ballgowns to summer sportswear, Princess Kate is known to be an international fashion icon. However, the royal’s dress at one of her recent outings shows she may be inspired by another famous woman, Ivanka Trump.
Kate was spotted at the Royal Charity Polo Cup of 2023 cheering on Prince William last week as he took part in a polo match to help raise money for charity. She sipped on champagne wearing a pale blue midi dress worth £550 by the London-based fashion brand Beulah.
Royal fans have noticed Kate was wearing is the exact same dress Ivanka wore while campaigning for her father, former president Donald Trump, back in September 2020.
Ivanka posted a picture of herself wearing the dress on Instagram while at a bakery in Florida in order to speak to voters who supported her father. She can be seen smiling in the photographs while learning to make Cuban bread and also taking pictures with staff members.
This is not the first time both the Princess of Wales and former political advisor have worn the same look.

Last year Kate wore a dress Ivanka had worn before to the Royal Charity Polo Cup, a white dress by British designer Emilia Wickstead worth £1,352.
Ivanka first wore the dress during a family occasion with her children in 2019, accessorising with a white belt and black clutch bag while the Princess decided to pair the dress with nude heels.
Back in July 2017, Ivanka and Kate were seen wearing the same bright yellow Jenny Packham dress within days of each other in order to attend public engagements.
Ivanka was seen in Washington attending a robotics competition for schoolchildren in the dress, which she paired with chunky silver turquoise jewelry along with turquoise heels. Kate wore the sunflower dress during a royal tour of Germany while in Heidelberg, which she paired with a pair of nude heels.
Kate wore a navy dress with white polka dots by Alessandra Rich to get her royal portrait taken in celebration of the 70th birthday of King Charles in September 2018.
Ivanka had worn the £1,750 dress just a few months before the Princess in July 2018, when she joined her father Mr Trump at political events in both Illinois and Iowa.
Kate is not only influenced by Ivanka but the former political advisor may be taken style tips from the Princess of Wales as well.
In a recent Instagram post, Ivanka posed a picture of herself in a dazzling sea-green dress by designer Jenny Packham in order to celebrate her daughter Arabella’s Bat Mitzvah worth £3,917.
While in a different colour, it is the same dress that Kate wore to the James Bond ‘No Time To Die’ premier in 2021. Kate wore the dress in glittering gold with her hair. Miranda Holder, a celebrity stylist and fashion expert, told the Express that Kate’s Jenny Packham gown is one of the most iconic outfits Kate has ever worn and is known for.
Miranda said: “You could see on Kate’s face how much she loved wearing that gown and you could also see in William’s face how much he loved her wearing the gown.
“I know she is a very famous woman photographed all the time, but Kate got her Hollywood starlet moment with the dress. It had a lovely old-school polished Hollywood glamour feel to it. It was just absolutely drama, stood out and was just so stunning. Absolutely beautifully divine.”
