Kate Middleton, 41, wore a gorgeous white dress today to attend a Governors General and Prime Ministers Lunch, ahead of the Coronation. The reception took place at Buckingham Palace.
The dress was long-sleeved and mid-length, and featured a black belt around the centre.
In addition, Kate’s dress had black detailing on the collar and was slightly split at the back.
To accessorise, the Princess of Wales wore the Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings.
Kate famously wore these at the funerals of both Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II.
The earrings were originally a wedding gift to the late Queen and Duke of Edinburgh from the Hakim of Bahrain.
Queen Elizabeth wore the earrings rather frequently for formal pictures and gala events in the early years of her marriage.
The earrings were seen in public less frequently on Queen Elizabeth, but in 1982, she loaned them to Princess Diana.
She wore the earrings for a banquet at Hampton Court Palace during a state visit from Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus of the Netherlands.
In October 2012, the late Queen loaned the earrings to another daughter-in-law, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.
Royal fans loved Kate’s style and took to social media to praise her style.
Twitter user @gewissesetwas said: “Love her shoes!” Similarly, @Fibutton wrote: “Those shoes are gorgeous!”
Royal fan @cadimamartins added: “Very elegant.” Meanwhile, @mm77atl commented: “The Princess of Wales is devastatingly beautiful.”
