
Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Nationwide and First Direct customers are suffering issues that are leaving them locked out of their accounts on payday according to Downdetector.
Most of the reports include problems accessing mobile or online banking, while a number of people taking to Downdetector mentioned issues with making payments.
According to DownDetector, issues started at around 8am on Friday and affected customers across the UK.
DownDetector says more than 4,00 Lloyds customers and more than 3,000 Halifax customers were having problems. Other banks affected were TSB and Bank of Scotland.
Nationwide customers were also reporting problems. On X the building society updated its customers and said it was working to get things back to normal.
Nationwideposted: We’re aware of some issues affecting our services this morning. Some incoming and outgoing payments are delayed. They are in a queue and will arrive ASAP.

Nationwide replied: Sorry, some account information may not be displaying online at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as we can.
@becky86173 posted: @AskNationwide morning, account balances aren’t updating. I’ve just transferred my bills money from NatWest to Nationwide and it’s not updated. I’ve checked app and via online banking on a browser.
On X Lloyds Bank was telling customers who were having trouble logging in or making a payment, to close their app from running in the background “& then reopen it”.
