SAN DIEGO —
A 23-year-old man in a car parked in front of a Mountain View apartment building was shot in his leg, hand and nose by someone in a car that pulled up next to him Monday night, San Diego police said.
Police said the victim and a friend were sitting in a black BMW on Messina Drive near Catania Street shortly before 6:35 p.m. A red sedan pulled up, words were exchanged between people in the two cars and it escalated into a shooting, police said.
Someone in the red car fired five times, hitting the victim, who was still behind the wheel of his car. His passenger was uninjured.
Police said the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other details were released.
