EAST COUNTY —
A man’s body was found in the eastbound lane of state Route 94 near the Spring Street off-ramp, apparently the victim of a hit-and-run crash, the California Highway Patrol said Friday.
CHP officers reported around 3:30 a.m. that they had found a man’s body on the freeway, east of Spring Street.
Investigators learned the man had been struck by a car while he was walking on the freeway, said Officer Jared Grieshaber.
The driver then fled the scene eastbound on the freeway, Grieshaber said.
State Route 94 was shut down so the CHP could investigate.
No further information was available.
