San Diego police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured and an unrelated stabbing of a woman in downtown early Tuesday morning.
In the first incident, a man with a gunshot wound contacted police on State Street near Grape Street around 2:30 a.m., said police Sgt. Dave Yu.
The victim told officers he had been shot near the old central library on Eighth and E streets, which is about two miles away.
Medics transported the man to a hospital to be treated for what appeared to be a non-life threatening wound.
About 10 minutes later, police responded to a reported fight and found a woman who had been stabbed in the back near Fourth Avenue and Market Street in the Gaslamp Quarter.
Yu said the woman’s wound was not considered life threatening.
No arrests were made in either incident, he said.
