OTAY MESA —
A 22-year-old man died Thursday after crashing his motorcycle into a concrete wall on state Route 905 in Otay Mesa, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
Investigators said the rider was headed east about 4 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, he veered into a wall near Heritage Road, CHP Officer Salvador Castro said.
The driver, a resident of Tijuana, died before he could be taken to a hospital, Castro said. His name will not be released until his family has been notified.
Two lanes of east Route 905 were closed for about five hours while officers investigated the crash. Anyone who witnessed the collision was asked to call the CHP’s San Diego office at (858) 293-6000.
