
A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries, including a leg wound that later required amputation, when he crashed into a parked vehicle Saturday evening in Valencia Park, San Diego police said.
The wreck occurred about 6:35 p.m. Saturday on Imperial Avenue near San Jacinto Drive, according to police.
The man was riding a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Imperial when he lost control around a curve in the roadway and struck a parked vehicle. He was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered multiple fractures to his right leg.
“The (man) was transported to the hospital and went into cardiac arrest twice before being stabilized for surgery,” police said in a statement. Doctors amputated his right leg.
