A motorcyclist was fatally injured Thursday night in a collision with another vehicle in Chula Vista, police said.
Few details about the deadly crash were immediately available, but it happened about 7:35 p.m. on Otay Lakes Road near La Media Road, Chula Vista police Lt. Gino Grippo said.
Medics took the gravely injured motorcycle rider to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, Grippo said. The lieutenant said the victim was a man, but no other details about him were immediately available.
The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt and alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash, Grippo said. He added that the other driver was cooperating with investigators and it not clear if the rainy weather was a factor in the crash.
The Chula Vista police traffic unit was investigating the deadly wreck and shut down eastbound Otay Lakes Road. The street was expected to remain closed most of Thursday night.
