The Marks and Spencer full line store in Eagles Meadow, Wrexham, will be closing in two weeks, on November 30. However, M&S told Express.co.uk that a brand new Foodhall will open in Wrexham, Wales, on December 1.
The new shop will be located in Plas Coch Retail Park. This is part of Marks and Spencer’s strategy to reduce its “full line” stores – clothing and home branches – and increase its Simply Food portfolio.
Mike Bolland, store manager at Wrexham, commented: “It’s brilliant to confirm our opening day. Our store will be packed with many exciting new features which we can’t wait to reveal and we’re counting down the days to finally open the doors so our customers can experience it for themselves.”
M&S has permanently closed at least seven food, clothing and home stores this year, including some in England and Wales, but it will be increasing its Foodhalls from 316 to 420 in the next five years, the company confirmed.
A new food store opened in Uckfield, in East Sussex, at the beginning of November, and a new M&S will be opening its door in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, on November 28.
