NFL can be a challenge, which is why I’m here weekly to assist.
On DraftKings, it’s important to remember you’re playing full-point PPR with bonuses if a player surpasses 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards or 100 receiving yards.
Here is my optimal lineup for Sunday’s $3 million Fantasy Football Millionaire contest, but it can be utilized as a foundation in other games and platforms.
All prices listed are courtesy of DraftKings with a $50,000 budget.
These lineups have netted $145, so I’m in the black $20 with an average score of 151.54 points through seven weeks.
Year-To-Date Results
Week 1: 170.52 points
Week 2: 141.30 points
Week 3: 130.78 points
Week 4: 152.50 points
Week 5: 162.32 points
Week 6: 146.56 points
Week 7: 156.78 points
QB: Jalen Hurts, Eagles ($8,200)
Only Josh Allen has more fantasy points than Hurts through seven games, while the Commanders are allowing the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season — they’ve allowed 10 touchdowns to QBs in the last four games.
RB: Breece Hall, Jets ($5,900)
Since Hall was unleashed two games ago, he’s produced 287 total yards on 42 touches (eight receptions) and scored twice. According to Fantasy Pros, the Giants have given up the fifth-highest explosive run rate, the 12th-highest missed tackles per attempt, and the tenth-highest yards after contact per attempt. They’ve also allowed eight TDs to running backs in seven games.
RB: Dameon Pierce, Texans ($5,300)
There’s risk here. Houston surprisingly utilized Devin Singletary as the lead back in its pre-bye victory over the Saints. Singletary out-snapped Pierce 34 to 21 while they split touches evenly (13). Regardless, both backs may be playable this week against the Panthers, who have allowed the NFL’s second-most fantasy points to running backs, including 5.3 yards per carry. Carolina has allowed multiple TDs to the position in five of six games.
WR: DeVonta Smith, Eagles ($6,700)
This squeaky wheel needs some grease. Smith has been an afterthought in this offense of late with A.J. Brown dominating targets and opposing secondaries. The Commanders made some adjustments at cornerback recently, but they’re still allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to wide receivers. Consider this leverage on anyone who uses Brown in their lineup this week.
WR: Terry McLaurin, Commanders ($5,300)
The Eagles have allowed the NFL’s second-most receptions (110), fifth-most yards (1,240) and a league-high nine TDs to wide receivers through seven games. McLaurin has at least five receptions in eight of nine career games against Philadelphia, while averaging 87 yards per game.
WR: Josh Downs, Colts ($4,800)
Downs is the overall WR13 across all fantasy formats since Week 3. He has two games with three or fewer receptions — the two games where Anthony Richardson played more than 95 percent of the offensive snaps. To say the rookie has thrived with Gardner Minshew under center would be an understatement.
TE: Dallas Goedert, Eagles ($4,600)
This completes my Philly double-stack. Only Travis Kelce has scored more PPR points than Goedert at the tight end position since Week 5. The Commanders have allowed 23 receptions for 238 yards and four TDs to tight ends the last three games.
FLEX: Chris Olave, Saints ($6,400)
The Colts are allowing the ninth-highest fantasy points per game to the slot where Olave lines up on 59 percent of passing plays, according to RotoViz. He has at least 10 targets in five of seven games and has produced at least six receptions or a TD in six of seven.
DST: Jacksonville Jaguars ($2,800)
The Jags’ defense had its only hiccup against the Texans in Week 3 where it allowed 37 points at home. They’ve created multiple turnovers in five of seven games this season and scored two touchdowns. Since the hiccup, the Jaguars have scored the second-most fantasy points behind only the Ravens.
