Clearly awkward, Noel smiles and thanks the fan who then tells the guitarist and singer: “If you need a stand in I could stand in. But I enjoy your solo work, it is phenomenal.”
Noel replies thanks, before the feebly voiced fan launches into another round of Champagne Supernova’s chorus.
He thanks Noel again, before asking the Mancunian rocker: “What are you thankful for this year?”
After taking a moment, the singer then teasingly replied: “Meeting new friends.”
This was not the end of the humorous exchange, however. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the fan tells the camera: “Meeting new friends. In a Champagne Supernova in the sky.
“You never know guys who could pop up on you at any time… someday you will find me, caught beneath the landslide of a Champagne Supernova in the sky. It’s good stuff man. Oasis.”
Online, fans of Noel were quick to berate the American fan, with one describing the video as the “most excruciating thing I have ever watched”.
Another said the fan “looks exactly like the type of person I’d expect to do this”.
Others noted how the outcome would have been different had Noel’s brother – and Oasis frontman – Liam Gallagher been approached.
A social media user said: “If this was Liam instead of Noel the bloke would probably have a bloody nose.”
Meanwhile a fourth added: “I wanna see him do this to Liam now…”
Liam is often to known to have a fiery temperament when compared to Noel.
