One pedestrian was killed and two others were hurt when they were struck by a car as they tried to cross an Oceanside street Sunday evening.
The crash happened about 7:30 pm. on Oceanside Boulevard just west of College Boulevard, Oceanside police Sgt. Clint Bussey said in a news release.
The pedestrians were trying to cross Oceanside Boulevard about 100 yards west of College when they were struck by a grey Toyota Corolla headed east on Oeanside.
All three were taken hospitals, where one of them died. The other two sustained injuries not considered life-threatening, Bussey said.
The Toyota driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. Bussey said the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and speed was not a factor in the crash.
The department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is handling the investigation, and anyone with information regarding the crash was asked to call Officer Kevin Lissner at (760) 435-4651.
