CHULA VISTA —
Otay Ranch Town Center was locked down Saturday evening after a person was shot near a brewery inside the large mall, Chula Vista police said.
About 7:15 p.m., people called 911 to report shots fired at or just outside Novo Brazil Brewery, which is in the mall just east of state Route 125 off Birch Road and Eastlake Parkway, police Sgt. Andrea Mayorga said.
She said the initial investigation indicates the shooting was not random, but followed an altercation of some sort.
The victim was male, she said, but his age was not immediately available.
No suspects were in custody as of an hour after the shooting.
