SAN DIEGO —
A 52-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle and killed while she was walking across a street in the City Heights neighborhood on Sunday, San Diego police said.
A motorist was driving a 2020 Honda Pilot northbound on Home Avenue approaching the intersection with Gateway Drive just before 5 p.m. when a woman walking east on Home stepped in front of her, according to Officer John Buttle.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries, Buttle said. The 32-year-old driver stopped after the collision.
