San Diego police are investigating a shooting in the Rolando area early Sunday that left a man and a woman injured.
Police said the two were sitting in a car in an alley off El Cajon Boulevard near 71st Street shortly after 3:30 a.m. when someone came up and shot them, said police Officer Sarah Foster. Several shots were fired. It was unclear how many suspects were involved.
The female victim was found at the scene and the male was located after he called a family member to report that he had been shot in the leg, Foster said.
Both victims suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and were taken to hospitals to be treated. No other information was released.
