Kate’s dress was floor length with a slight A-line skirt, and around the hem were silver bullion and threadwork embroidery featuring rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock motifs.
In the newly released official Coronation portraits, the embroidery continues around the cuffs of the long sleeves, and across the shoulders and chest as the neckline sweeps into a curved V.
It is believed the Princess took style cues from the late Queen Elizabeth II for her dress, whose own coronation gown also featured national flowers.
And just like the late Queen, (who wore Norman Hartnell for both occasions), Kate also chose her wedding dress designer, Alexander McQueen, to create her coronation dress.
Fans took to social media to comment on Kate’s uncovered dress design. One said: “WOW stuning and regal and beautiful and graceful and tons more other stuff I can say!!”
“Kate steals the show, as always. She’s so beautiful and elegant,” someone else wrote.
A third added: “I would swear Kate is wearing a different dress. The neckline is 200 percent different than the neckline on the day. And now she is suddenly wearing that necklace? Confused.”

Despite her collection of diamonds having vastly increased since 1950, the late Queen favoured the George VI Festoon Necklace and wore it regularly.
To note, 12 times have been recorded, with the majority of occasions being state visits to other countries. But this is the first time the necklace has been worn by Kate.
Alongside the dazzling necklace, Kate wore Princess Diana’s pearl and diamond earrings that featured a horseshoe set with baguette diamonds and a pearl drop suspended from the diamond.
To complete her accessories, Kate wore a sparkling headpiece which had been created by Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen.

The Princess was made a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (GCVO) by the late Queen in 2019, so is now entitled to wear the Grand Cross Mantles of the Royal Victorian Order.
On her feet, Kate chose her trusty pair of Gianvito 105 White Leather Pumps from Gianvito Rossi.
These are not a new pair of shoes in Kate’s wardrobe, in fact, she has many of the same style in different colours.
