Queen Camilla and King Charles will be crowned at Westminster Abbey on May 6. The Queen Consort will undoubtedly look gorgeous wearing Queen Mary’s crown and a Bruce Oldfield dress that has so far been kept under wraps.
But one thing she won’t be sporting on the day is grey hair, according to the woman who tints Camilla’s hair, Jo Hansford.
Ms Hansford appeared on Jeremy Vine on Channel 5 where she explained why she enjoys tinting people’s hair.
Jeremy introduced Ms Hansford, saying: “I mean you tint Camilla’s hair Jo, correct? So you’ve not said, ‘Look, what about going grey for the Coronation?'”
The hairstylist replied: “Absolutely no way! No way would she ever want to be grey, any more than I would!”

Ms Hansford continued: “I embrace my hair colour and if I’m left on a desert island, I would bring a tint brush and a toothbrush. I would never ever not be a blonde.”
Jeremy asked the Queen Consort’s hairstylist what she finds “problematic” about letting hair go grey.
Ms Hansford clarified: “I don’t dislike grey. I like grey when it’s pure snowy white and well-cut.
“I can visualise people – I love people who have got snowy white hair, well-cut, beautiful makeup, very chic – that’s fabulous.
“But I’m talking about what I call the ‘mumsy’ look sort of look. You know, not a good haircut, salt and pepper hair.
“I know when I look at somebody that I could change that person to look 10 years younger.
“I’m not talking full colour, I can add just a little bit of colour, or whatever.
“But because I’ve been doing it for so many years I can just see the transformation and I love doing it because it makes people so happy when they do it.”

“I’d noticed that in photographs her hair had started to look white – like grey hair.
“And I thought ‘why bother if it just looks white?’ But I had to be very cautious because she likes the body that the colour gives her, and she has a lot of hair but it’s fine.
“So we had the conversation and did it as a gradual process, and it looks so much nicer, the body is still there, and Camilla loves it.”
Ms Hansford also discussed Kate Middleton’s beautiful brunette hair: “She’s got lovely hair but I think it is too long. She’s so slim, and with hair, you have to look at the whole image, the proportions, so I would take it up six inches.”
